Lonely men on Reddit were tricked into purchasing nudes from what they believed to be a 'gorgeous' woman, only to find out the black-haired girl was generated by AI.
A user named 'Claudia' posted scandals images on the platform, offering to send nudes to anyone who messaged her privately - but for the right price.
Several users jumped at the occasion - one offered to pay for her nudes and another asked the AI out, noting they make a six-figure salary.
The lovestruck Redditor's dreams were shattered when news spread that two computer science students had created their dream girl.
The duo made the account 'u/Cl4ud14' to see if digital images can fool people and told Rolling Stone that they made $100 off the AI nudes before being called out.
One image of Claudia was a simple selfie captioned, 'Feeling pretty today.' The post had more than 200 comments, many praising her beauty. But one comment called out the image for being AI generated
A Reddit account shared explicit images of a woman with dark black hair. The user was named Claudia and was offering up nudes for a price
Claudia was created by Stable Diffusion, an AI program that churns out realistic photos using simple text prompts.
In the case of Claudia, the creators told the system to generate a selfie of a woman in her house 'without makeup with black hair, shoulder length hair, simple background, straight hair, hair bangs.'
The students took their experiment to the next level with explicit posts describing Claudia's sexual escapades, including her first time having anal sex to using butt plugs and pleasuring men.
Her sultry posts gained the attention of other users who loved reading about her experiences and wanted to hear more.

A day later, user MeysterA posted: 'For those who aren't aware, I'm going to kill your fantasy.
'This is literally an AI creation; if you've worked with AI image models and made your own long enough, you can 10000% tell. Sorry to ruin the surprise, I guess.'
But this was after hundreds of comments worshiped Claudia for her good looks.
MrAllGood247 posted: 'You are absolutely gorgeous!! Will make a great trophy wife someday.'
Claudia was created with an AI program that generates images using text prompts, but her creators wanted to see how easily people are be fooled
One Reddit user, 'legalbeagle1966, told the Washington Post that they 'feel a bit cheated' after learning Claudia was a fake.
They had commented on her photo that she looked 'pretty sexy and perfect.'
However, a dive into this person's past comments and you will see comments on many nude photos floating around Reddit.
After MeysterA pulled the mask off Claudia, other Redditors chimed in, demanding to see her hands.
Image-generating AI systems fail at recreating the human hand, as most images show people with more than five digits or less.
Other AI experts spotted strange background details and blemishes in bizarre places- all signs of digital imagery.
That was after one Redditor offered to pay Claudia for private pictures and videos
And another user appeared to be lovestruck by the AI's beauty
Stability AI, the London start-up behind Stable Diffusion, prohibits users from creating 'obscene, lewd, lascivious, offensive [and] pornographic' images with its technology.
But since Stable Diffusion is available to the public, the company cannot track how the tool is used.
Claudia may have been a silly experiment for two students, but the technology is being used in sickening ways.
MailOnline reported in February that pedophiles are using AI to generate realistic indecent images of children - before sharing them on social media with other perverts.
The creators took the experiment further by responding to some of the comments

Abusers have seized upon the latest image-generating software to fulfill their warped fantasies, MailOnline can disclose.
And in some cases, perverts have gone further, experimenting with 'deepfake' technology to paste the faces of real-life youngsters and child actors onto naked bodies created by a computer AI, authorities say.
The revelation shocked campaigners and prompted calls from child abuse charities for an urgent Government response, with Britain's FBI, the National Crime Agency (NCA), insisting it is reviewing how sex predators are using new tech.
MailOnline understands images are being spread predominantly across Instagram, Facebook and Twitter.
Perverts are also setting up groups on instant messaging apps Telegram and WhatsApp to 'trade' pictures, with others using TikTok - a social media platform popular with children.
